When it comes to measuring curtains, it's essential to approach the task with precision and the right tools. Before you begin, make sure to gather the necessary equipment: a measuring tape, pencil, and a sturdy ladder. These tools will enable you to accurately determine the dimensions needed for your curtains. Taking precise measurements will ensure a professional and polished look for your curtains, adding an elegant touch to your space.

2. Measure wall's Width & Height

• Windows' width or wall to wall width (for whole wall width curtains)
• Length (height) from floor to ceiling

3. Decide Curtains' Length According to Your Preferred Styles

  • Below Sill Length

  • Apron Length

  • Floor Length

"Window Sill" or "Below Sill" Length Curtains are short curtains that just reach the window sill, or below window sill by 1-2 inches.

It's great for spaces with pets and also perfect for spaces with small children because it doesn't get dirty as quickly.

"Apron" Length curtains are those around 8 inches or longer than the window sill, but does not reach the floor.

For standard size windows, curtains with 170cm height can create an "Apron Length" effect.

This type of curtain is suitable for all homes because it looks neat and orderly. The home space will also look simple & nice if you hang these curtains.

"Puddle Effect" Curtains are oversized curtains 1 - 3 inches to the floor. This type of curtain styles like an elegant 'gown' on your window, and are suitable for decorative background or backdrop.

4. Confirm Curtain Tracks or Rods' Width

If you still don't have curtain track & rods installed, first measure the width of the window. Installation of curtain tracks & rods a few inches (normally 6 - 12 inches) wider than the windows can make the windows appear larger and elegant. It also make sure that your windows will be fully covered by curtains so that there is no ‘light leakage' issue during day time, or ‘privacy leakage' during night time.

If your windows or sliding doors are already installed with tracks or rods, you can measure the width of the tracks or rods without adding any extra measurement, as our professional customer service representatives will recommend to you the most suitable curtain size according to the measurement provided. No more headaches to figure out the curtain size you should take.

5. Double Check Tracks or Rods' Installation Height

Curtain tracks or rods should be installed 4 to 6 inches (10 - 15 cm) higher than the window frame if there is no any obstruction such as an air-cond. In fact, you are highly recommended to install the tracks / rods at the topmost part of the wall or directly install them at the ceiling (full height).

You should take note that different types of curtain tracks / rods will affect the curtain height needed too. Not to mention curtain style for example french pleat, eyelet, double pleat, singapore pleat, tab top, rod pocket, and so on. Nevertheless, these are not what you have to worry about as our customer service representatives are here to help you choose the exact height needed, so that the curtains will not be too long or too short (if you are looking for floor-length curtain height).

What you have to do is just provide us the measurement of the topmost part of your track / rods to the floor, then tell us the curtain style you prefer. We will suggest to you the height needed.
